Charter Commission Members
The following members of the Charter Commission were appointed by the Memphis City Council (10 charter members) and Mayor A C Wharton when he was Mayor of Shelby County (5 charter members).
They were from all parts of Shelby County and over nine months, they wrote a charter that creates a 21st century government in our community.

Billy Orgel, Managing Partner of Tower Ventures, a developer and manager of communications towers throughout the southeast.
Chris Patterson, An Attorney with Wiseman Bray PLLC.
Previously a law clerk for the Shelby County Criminal Courts and an Intern for the Shelby County District Attorney General's Office.
Carmen Sandoval, Administrative Director for the Department of Behavioral Medicine of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Previously, at the City of Memphis' Human Resources Department, served as Privacy Coordinator, Senior Training Analyst-Interim and Benefits Support-Interim
